Simba SC Board Chairman Crescentius Magori has reaffirmed the club’s ambition to compete for both remaining trophies this season—the Tanzania Premier League and the CRDB Cup.
Magori said that as the decisive final month of the season unfolds, the club hopes fairness will prevail and that the team deserving of the championship will ultimately be crowned.
"Our goal remains the championship. We want to win both trophies, the league and the CRDB Cup. Although we know the league title is not entirely in our hands, what we want to see in these final matches is fairness so that the rightful champion is determined on the pitch."
"There were matches earlier in the season where we believe that if we had been treated fairly, we might be leading the league today. The important thing is that we will continue fighting until the end. Five matches are still a lot, and anything can happen," said Magori.
Simba currently sit second in the league standings with 58 points, just two points behind their rivals Yanga, who lead the table with 60 points.
The Msimbazi Reds return to training today as they begin preparations for the crucial final matches of the season, knowing that both the league title race and the CRDB Cup remain within reach.
With only a handful of games left to play, Simba remain determined to keep the pressure on Yanga while also pursuing success in the domestic cup competition.
