Simba SC Board Chairman Crescentius Magori has clarified that midfielder Clatous Chama remains under contract with the club until 2027.
Since returning to Simba, Chama has been one of the team's standout performers, sparking widespread speculation about his future and the possibility of signing a new contract.
Magori dismissed reports suggesting that Chama signed only a six-month deal, explaining that the Zambian playmaker agreed to a one-and-a-half-year contract that will keep him at Msimbazi until the end of the 2027 season.
“Chama has a contract until 2027. People are spreading false information by claiming his contract is about to expire and that he is performing well because he is looking for a new deal. The truth is that he is here until 2027,” said Magori.
“What may be discussed is extending it until 2028, but Simba cannot sign a player for only six months. That does not happen and cannot happen. If you sign a player for six months, you immediately give other clubs the opportunity to negotiate with him. That would be a mistake,” he added.
Since rejoining Simba from Singida Black Stars, Chama has been in excellent form, scoring eight goals and providing six assists, making him one of the club’s most influential players this season.
