Clatous Chama has restored creativity and quality to Simba SC’s midfield, making an immediate impact since returning to Msimbazi during the mid-season transfer window from Singida Black Stars.
However, reports indicate that Simba are planning to sign another attacking midfielder to further strengthen that department.
Head coach Steve Barker has built much of Simba’s attacking structure around Chama, leading many to question how the team would cope in his absence.
Many believe that when Chama is unavailable, Neo Maema is the closest player capable of performing part of his role, although not with the same level of effectiveness shown by the “Mwamba wa Lusaka.”
This is believed to be one of the main reasons Simba’s management has returned to the transfer market in search of another creative midfielder.
The expected signing could also lead to some midfield players leaving the club.
Naby Camara has struggled for regular playing time under Barker, making him one of the players who could potentially be shown the exit door.
Additionally, Simba’s early signing of defensive midfielder Kelvin Nashon has reportedly placed Alassane Kanté under pressure regarding his future at the club.
One of the names heavily linked with a move to Msimbazi is Marumo Gallants attacking midfielder Ibrahim Bance from Burkina Faso.
