After claiming the Man of the Match award in five consecutive games, Simba SC attacking midfielder Elie Mpanzu today received the award from “Mwamba wa Lusaka,” Clatous Chama.
Mpanzu scored the decisive goal in Simba’s 1–0 victory over Dodoma Jiji at KMC Complex.
The goal came after Chama’s penalty kick was saved by the goalkeeper, with the rebound falling kindly to Mpanzu, who calmly finished to score a crucial winner for Simba.
The victory returned the Msimbazi Reds to the top of the league standings with 58 points.
Mpanzu had been lively throughout the match and looked the most likely player to score, missing several chances earlier in the game before finally finding the breakthrough.
The message is clear — Simba are back at the summit.
