Mo Dewji Promises Simba Players TSh1 Billion Bonus for Winning Two Titles

If Simba SC manage to win the two remaining trophies this season — the Mainland Premier League title and the CRDB Federation Cup — the club’s players will reportedly receive a bonus of TSh1 billion.

The promise was made by Simba investor and honorary president Mohamed Dewji, popularly known as “Mo Dewji,” after recently holding meetings with both the players and top club officials in a bid to boost morale and help end the club’s recent trophy drought.

Followers of social media may have noticed that the Simba billionaire was in town last weekend, where he held two major meetings, first with the players and later with senior club leaders.

According to sources within Simba, Mo first met the players and congratulated them for the strong performances they have shown this season, especially in the league campaign.

“Mo promised the players a huge reward if they succeed in winning both the league title and the CRDB Cup. He told them this is the right time to restore Simba’s pride,” the source said.

“He reminded them that Simba is a big club capable of reclaiming the trophies they have missed for a long time. The club has prepared well this season, and now it is up to the players to finish the job,” the source added.

The meeting reportedly motivated the squad, as shortly afterward Simba defeated TRA United 4-0 in the CRDB Cup quarter-final. Simba have now advanced to the semi-finals, where they will face Coastal Union on June 20 at Sheikh Amri Abeid Stadium.

Meeting With Club Executives

Mo Dewji also held discussions with senior club officials as part of wider plans to rebuild Simba into a dominant force once again.

Reports indicate that Mo informed the leadership that if the team wins both the league and CRDB Cup titles, he is ready to provide more than TSh1 billion as a reward.

“The billionaire has already set aside one billion shillings for Simba if they win both remaining trophies. If he becomes even happier with the results, he could increase the amount,” the source explained.

“This is positive news for the leadership because their main responsibility now is to keep motivating the players so the opportunity is not wasted,” the source continued.

This would not be the first time Simba’s management has offered major incentives. Earlier this season, club executives reportedly promised TSh300 million if the team defeated rivals Yanga in the Muungano Cup — a target the players successfully achieved.
