Simba SC produced a dominant performance at Lake Tanganyika Stadium in Kigoma, securing an impressive 3-0 victory over Mashujaa FC.
It was a match where Simba entered the pitch with one clear objective β to collect all three points β and they needed only five minutes to take the lead through the star of the match, Clatous Chama.
Chama scored directly from a corner kick that beat the Mashujaa FC goalkeeper.
Simba continued to control the game while Mashujaa FC sat deep in defense and at times struggled to cope with Simbaβs pace and attacking pressure.
By halftime, Simba were leading 1-0, and the Msimbazi Reds returned for the second half with the same intensity.
It was Chama once again who scored the second goal with a powerful strike from just outside the penalty area.
The goal marked Chamaβs fourth consecutive league match with a goal and his eighth goal of the season.
The third goal was scored by Suleiman Mwalimu in the closing stages after finishing a brilliant assist from Neo Maema.
The victory earned Simba three extremely important points and significantly boosted their hopes in the title race. Simba now have 52 points, just two behind their biggest rivals Young Africans SC (Yanga).
Chama once again demonstrated his importance in the league by winning his fourth consecutive Man of the Match award.
