Simba SC are in Kigoma where they will take to the pitch this evening at Lake Tanganyika Stadium to face Mashujaa FC in a Tanzania Mainland Premier League Round 23 fixture.
The match is important for Simba as they aim to collect all three points and reduce the gap between them and rivals Young Africans SC (Yanga), who suffered a 3-2 defeat to Dodoma Jiji yesterday.
Simba arrived in Kigoma on Wednesday evening after completing their preparations in Dar es Salaam ahead of the match.
Assistant coach Suleiman Matola said the team is fully prepared for a tough match, expecting strong resistance from the home side Mashujaa FC.
There is good news for Simba as several injured players have returned ahead of the game.
Defender Rushine de Reuck and forward Anicet Oura, who featured in the previous match, are both available for selection in what is being described as a “final” for Simba in their title challenge.
In a season where Simba are aiming for the league title, matches like this are very important in keeping them in the race.
