Assistant coach of Simba SC, Suleiman Matola, has explained why the Msimbazi giants delayed their trip to Kigoma ahead of Thursday’s NBC Premier League match against Mashujaa FC.
Simba remained in Dar es Salaam and are expected to travel later today to Kigoma for the important league fixture.
According to Matola, the lack of proper training facilities in Kigoma influenced the club’s decision to travel just one day before the match.
“You know there is a big challenge regarding training grounds in Kigoma, so for us we felt it was better to complete our preparations here in Dar es Salaam, and perhaps we will have our final session in the evening at the match venue,” said Matola.
“Also, if you look at the current schedule, matches are coming very close together, so it is difficult to travel two days before a game. The important thing is that we have completed our programs well and we are ready for the match,” he added.
Simba are expected to leave Dar es Salaam this afternoon for Kigoma, where the squad will hold their final training session at Lake Tanganyika Stadium later in the evening ahead of the match.
