Despite admitting disappointment with the 2-2 draw against Yanga in the NBC Premier League match played at Isamuhyo Stadium yesterday, Simba’s Head of Information and Communications, Ahmed Ali, says the club still has every reason to be proud of the team’s progress.
Speaking after the match, Ahmed noted that while fans are frustrated by the failure to secure victory, the overall team rebuilding project has been a success.
"This is the team we should be proud of—a team that has taken us out of weakness, ended our struggles, and restored our respect and stature after a period of repeated defeats."
"Now our rivals celebrate a draw. We have made Yanga celebrate like teams such as Dodoma Jiji or Mtibwa Sugar that usually celebrate draws against Simba."
"We have already removed the inferiority. What remains is to establish our dominance. That is not far away. For now, one thing is certain—Yanga cannot beat us. What remains is for Simba to beat Yanga," Ahmed said.
This result means Simba are now unbeaten in their last three matches against Yanga, with one win and two draws in league encounters.
