Simba dropped two crucial points at home, Major General Isamuhyo Stadium, after being held to a 2-2 draw by rivals Yanga.
Simba started the match with great intensity, scoring two quick goals. Libasse Gueye opened the scoring in just the second minute after an assist from Clatous Chama.
Their high pressing caused problems for Yanga’s defense, winning the ball in midfield and leading directly to the opening goal.
In the 8th minute, Chama doubled the lead with a stunning goal, finishing a well-worked move after combining with Elie Mpanzu.
However, after going two goals up, Simba appeared to lose momentum, allowing Yanga back into the game. Prince Dube pulled one back in the 18th minute.
Despite conceding, Simba remained cautious and went into halftime with a 2-1 lead.
In the second half, Simba conceded again in the 50th minute after Pacome Zouzoua’s cross was initially saved by goalkeeper Djibril Kassali, but the rebound fell to Mwamnyeto, who equalized for Yanga.
Simba created several chances in the second half, but failed to convert them, and the match ended 2-2.
It is a result that Simba fans will not be happy with, given the strong position they were in to win the match.
