Simba SC’s Head of Information and Communications, Ahmed Ali, has urged fans to secure their tickets early ahead of the Premier League clash against Yanga, scheduled for Sunday, May 3, at Major General Isamuhyo Stadium.
Ahmed also advised supporters who may miss out on tickets due to the stadium’s limited capacity to watch the match live on Azam TV from home.
He emphasized that Simba need a win on Sunday to remain firmly in the title race, warning that any result other than victory could put them in a difficult position given the current league standings.
“This match doesn’t need many words. I don’t think there’s any Simba fan who doesn’t understand the magnitude of the derby or its value. Essentially, it speaks for itself—but as humans, we need reminders. The truth is, this match will decide the league title. Whether Simba win or lose the title depends on May 3. It’s a must-win match so we can secure three points and maintain a two-point gap,” said Ahmed.
He called on fans and club members to unite and ensure victory on Sunday, adding that it would be the perfect way to crown their recent Muungano Cup celebrations.
“Yesterday we concluded the Muungano Cup celebrations. From now on, all focus shifts to the May 3 match. We need three points. How can we achieve that if we keep celebrating? Everyone must now return to their roles and focus on winning. We will celebrate properly after securing victory on May 3,” he added.
Ahmed also announced ticket prices for the 6:00 PM kickoff: regular stands (Mzunguko) are priced at Tsh 15,000/-, VIP B at Tsh 30,000/-, and VIP A at Tsh 50,000/-.
“We’ve set affordable ticket prices so every Simba fan can attend. Given the size of Major General Isamuhyo Stadium, we could have charged more, but we chose fan-friendly prices. Buy your tickets early—if you wait until tomorrow, I can assure you they will be sold out,” he said.
