Simba SC have made their ambitions clear to finish the season on a high, with players set to “cash in millions” if they secure victories in two key matches against arch-rivals Yanga.
Simba are heading into a high-pressure week, starting with the Muungano Cup final against Yanga this Wednesday, followed by another clash five days later in the Tanzania Mainland Premier League on May 3 at Isamuhyo Stadium, Mbweni.
Huge bonuses promised to Msimbazi stars
According to sources within Simba’s management, the club has set aside a significant financial package to motivate players ahead of these crucial encounters.
It is reported that:
- Winning the Muungano Cup final alone will earn players over TSh 450 million in bonuses
- The official prize for the competition is TSh 150 million, but Simba’s leadership has added approximately TSh 300 million on top
The source further revealed that club officials have assured players that the bonuses will be paid immediately after victory, a move aimed at boosting morale ahead of the second derby.
“Simba leaders have already told the players that if they win Wednesday’s derby, they will receive their bonuses even before returning to Dar es Salaam. This is meant to motivate them for the next match,” the source said.
Big targets against Yanga
Beyond winning the Muungano Cup, Simba are also determined to claim victory in the league match against Yanga to reduce the points gap and keep their title hopes alive this season.
The club’s leadership believes that success in these two matches will set a strong tone for the remainder of the season and restore joy among their supporters.
A historic derby with high stakes
Matches between Simba and Yanga have always been fiercely competitive, and this time the two upcoming derbies carry even greater significance—not only for bragging rights but also for determining the fate of trophies this season.
