Simba attacking midfielder Neo Maema has said that the Muungano Cup final against Yanga is of great importance to the players ahead of tomorrow’s clash.
Maema, who has been one of the standout performers in the Simba squad this season, said the team is determined to win trophies this campaign, and the final presents a key opportunity to achieve that goal.
"This is a final that comes with a trophy and medals. It is something we want to achieve this season as a team. Because it is a derby final, we players are even more motivated," he said.
"This could possibly be one of the biggest matches in East Africa, bringing together two teams with great history. It is a big moment for us as players to be part of this game."
"Everything in terms of preparation is under the coaches, but for us players, participating in this match is a great honour," Maema added.
Following their impressive 3-0 victory over Mlandege FC in the semi-finals, Simba returned to training yesterday and are expected to complete their final preparations today ahead of the match, which will be played tomorrow, Wednesday.
