The situation surrounding striker Jonathan Sowah has taken a new turn after the player failed to show up for training sessions he was instructed to attend with Simba SC’s U20 team.
A week ago, Simba outlined its position on Sowah’s disciplinary case, stating that he would be fined for admitted misconduct since his suspension. The club also instructed him to train with the youth team.
The aim was to monitor the Ghanaian striker’s attitude and disciplinary improvement after being signed this season from Singida Black Stars.
However, Sowah has now missed these training sessions for two consecutive days, without providing any explanation to the coaching staff assigned to supervise him.
The sessions, which began the day before yesterday at a military ground, saw Sowah absent, and he also failed to appear again yesterday, prompting coaches to report the situation to club officials.
"Sowah has not shown up. We started yesterday and did not see him, and even today he is still absent. Our job is to report to management whether he attends or not," said one of the U20 training supervisors.
"We were told that management had even provided us with his contact details and also shared the coach’s (John Bocco) number with him. So far, no one seems to know anything, and no one has contacted him," the source added.
Meanwhile, sources close to Sowah’s camp suggest the striker is unwilling to train with the youth team, believing he has not committed any wrongdoing against the club.
