After being absent from the squad for several weeks, Simba SC attacking midfielder Mohamed Bajaber finally made his return to the pitch yesterday.
Bajaber featured as part of the Simba squad that played in the Muungano Cup quarter-final against Mafunzo FC, a match that ended with Simba advancing to the semi-finals following a 1-0 victory.
Since joining Simba from Polisi FC during last July’s transfer window, Bajaber has struggled to fully showcase his abilities due to recurring injuries.
These injuries have been a major setback, not only for him personally but also for Simba fans who have been eager to witness his talent.
The situation reached a point where, during the mid-season transfer window, Simba’s management had to temporarily remove him from the registered squad to make room for another foreign player, while giving him time to recover fully.
Despite being deregistered temporarily, Bajaber has remained close to the team, continuing to train with his teammates as he still features in Simba’s long-term plans.
His return through the Muungano Cup is now seen as the beginning of a fresh chapter in his journey with the club.
Bajaber still has a long-term contract with Simba, and if he can regain full fitness and avoid further injuries, there is a strong possibility he will be officially reinstated into the squad in the next transfer window.
