Simba SC are expected to travel to Zanzibar to take part in the Muungano Cup, which officially kicks off today.
Club spokesperson Ahmed Ali has confirmed that head coach Steve Barker will arrive in Zanzibar with his full squad ready for the tournament.
Simba will play their quarter-final match on Thursday against Mafunzo FC, with kickoff scheduled for 8:15 PM.
A victory for “Wekundu wa Msimbazi” would send them into the semi-finals, where they will face the winner between Mlandege and Singida BS.
Simba are also expected to use the tournament as part of their preparations for the highly anticipated Kariakoo derby against Yanga, set to be played on May 3 at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.
To stay in the title race this season, Simba will be targeting maximum points in the derby against Yanga.
