The loan contract of striker Suleiman Mwalimu at Simba SC is expected to expire at the end of the current season.
According to the initial agreement, Mwalimu will return to his parent club Wydad AC once his loan spell ends in June.
However, Simba’s management has already begun efforts to retain the striker for another season.
Mwalimu has enjoyed a strong campaign at Simba this season, currently leading the club’s scoring charts with six goals in the NBC Premier League.
He has become a key player under coach Steve Barker, who reportedly sees him as an important part of his plans for next season’s project.
Simba’s plan is to sign Mwalimu permanently, and if that fails, to extend his loan for another season.
The club has moved early amid reports that Yanga have made contact with Wydad AC in an attempt to sign the player.
