As Simba SC prepare for their CRDB Federation Cup Round of 16 clash against Dodoma Jiji, head coach Steve Barker has revealed plans to make slight tactical adjustments to improve the teamโs creativity in front of goal.
Speaking ahead of the match at Sheikh Amri Abeid Stadium, Barker admitted that his team has struggled with scoring goals but emphasized that they have been working hard to address the issue in training.
โIn the last match we played against Dodoma Jiji, I think we performed well, but it was just unfortunate that we couldnโt score,โ he said.
โWe have also played two league matches without scoring. We understand the challenge we are facing and we are putting in a lot of work on the training ground.โ
โWe need to create more chances in order to score goals, so we will make a few tactical adjustments which I believe will give us more opportunities to create and convert chances,โ added Barker.
Meanwhile, Simba vice-captain Rushine de Reuck acknowledged the difficulty of the upcoming match but stressed the importance of focusing on their own preparations and securing victory.
โWe have already played Dodoma Jiji once this season, so we understand their strengths and weaknesses. What matters most for us is focusing on what we need to do in this match.โ
โWe need to be better than we were in the last game, and I believe if we do that, we have a strong chance of winning.โ
โOur goal is to win every trophy, so this is an opportunity for us to fight, get the win, and move on to the next stage,โ said Rushine.
