Simba head coach Steve Barker has said the goalless draw against TRA United was not the result they wanted and stressed the need for quick improvement to secure wins in upcoming matches.
Yesterday, Simba was held to a 0-0 draw by TRA United in a match played at Sheikh Amri Abeid Stadium in Arusha.
This marked the second consecutive match in which Simba failed to collect maximum points, following another draw against Azam FC in their previous game.
Speaking after the match, Barker said that in order to keep pressure on their rivals Yanga in the title race, they must return to winning ways.
“It’s not a good result for us. It’s a match we needed to win to keep pressure on the league standings. It’s the kind of game where we should have fought harder and found a way to win.”
“We knew it wouldn’t be an easy match. TRA United have shown they are a tough team, especially when playing at home.”
“I think we can blame ourselves because we were not good, especially in the first half. We didn’t place our passes in the right areas and made it easy for TRA United to defend against our attacks.”
“In the second half we improved and created chances, but our final balls still lacked impact.”
“We know we can play much better. We have a short time to correct our mistakes before the FA Cup match this weekend,” said Barker.
Simba’s next match will be against Dodoma Jiji in the CRDB Cup round of 16, scheduled for Sunday, April 12, at Sheikh Amri Abeid Stadium.
