The Mzizima Derby between Azam FC and Simba, played at the Azam Complex, ended in a goalless draw.
It was an open and entertaining match with both sides creating chances, but Simba’s attacking line will have themselves to blame for failing to capitalize on several clear opportunities.
Simba may feel hard done by after what looked like a potential penalty incident in the first half when Libasse Guaye was fouled inside the box, but referee Ahmed Arajiga waved play on.
Finishing remains a key challenge for Simba, with a lack of clinical edge evident once again. Head coach Steve Barker had highlighted this concern before the match and will likely return to the training ground to address it.
At this crucial stage of the season, every point matters. Although Simba missed out on all three points, the single point gained could still prove valuable in the title race.
