Simba continues to demonstrate dominance in the Mainland Premier League transfer market quietly, aiming to reduce pressure once the transfer window opens.
The club has prepared a new transfer strategy for the upcoming season, with management seeking to complete signings early, believing that doing so will give them an edge over other clubs that will be chasing top stars.
The first confirmed signing is reported to be homegrown midfielder Kelvin Nashoni from Pamba, who was on loan from Singida BS, whose contract ends at the conclusion of this season.
The club management stated that it has faced difficulties whenever competing with other top domestic clubs for a player during the transfer window, and they no longer want to encounter that situation.
"We have very few spots to fill. After renewing contracts for our players, including Rushine De Reuck and Yusuph Kagoma, we started working on bringing in fresh faces. So far, we’ve signed only one player, Nashoni, but we want to ensure that before the window opens, our transfers are already finalized because the names are already ready," a source from Simba said.
The source added that the management wants all transfers settled before the World Cup finals begin so that they can properly plan for the 2026/2027 season preparations.
"We have no plans to sign a player during the World Cup finals, whether AFCON or CHAN. We want to finish our transfer business early so the team can enter pre-season camp on time."
The source said Simba is looking to sign a foreign striker but plans to recall midfielder Saleh Karabaka, who is currently on loan at JKT Tanzania, while also evaluating their first-choice goalkeeper Djibrilla Kassali, who has a short-term contract that has yet to be extended. Moussa Camara, though currently outside the squad, is still being supported by the club with accommodation, food, and match allowances until the end of the season when his contract ends.
"Camara is still being supported by the club in every way. I think this may be a motivation for Kassali because in meetings management considers that if Camara is fit, he could be better than him. But this is just a matter of timing as Camara’s contract ends this season and he may have already started talks elsewhere."
"Another player still owned by Simba is Mohamed Bajaber. At the end of the season, the coach will decide whether he leaves directly or who replaces him."
It is also reported that Simba may part ways with three foreign players at the end of the season, one of whom has been getting regular playing time while the other two have not secured a permanent spot in the squad.
The current foreign players at Simba are: Kassali, De Reuck, Ismael Touré, Alassane Kanté, Naby, Elie Mpanzu, Libasse Gueye, Clatous Chama, Jonathan Sowah, Anicet Oura, Bajaber, Neo Maema.
