Simba SC are continuing preparations for their Premier League match against Coastal Union, scheduled for Thursday, April 2 at Meja Jenerali Isamuhyo Stadium.
This is one of two outstanding fixtures Simba must play to complete their first-round matches.
The other pending first-round match, yet to be rescheduled, is against TRA United, which was previously postponed after Sheikh Amri Abeid Stadium became waterlogged.
Simba resumed training on Friday as they prepare for the match, with the team determined to secure all three points and reduce the gap between them and their rivals Young Africans SC (Yanga).
Simba currently sit second in the league standings with 31 points, seven behind Yanga who lead with 38 points. However, if Simba win both outstanding matches, the gap could be reduced to just one point.
Coastal Union remain a tricky opponent whenever they face Simba. Last season, they held Simba to a draw at KMC Complex before losing 3-0 in the return leg at Mkwakwani Stadium in Tanga.
Simba players had a break during the FIFA calendar period and are expected to return with renewed energy as they aim to clear their backlog before facing Azam FC in the Dar es Salaam derby on Sunday.
