Simba SC head coach Steve Barker has praised the club’s leadership for their efforts in strengthening the squad, particularly through the signings made during the recent transfer window.
Barker, who joined Simba at the end of December 2025 from South African club Stellenbosch FC, said his team has continued to improve and that he now has more options thanks to a deeper squad.
The coach expressed strong confidence in his players, stating that even those who do not start matches have proven capable when given the opportunity.
“There is always a level of concern any coach might have when managing a team without certainty of results, but for me it is different.
“Our team now has two strong units — those who start in the first eleven and those who begin on the bench. Both groups have the ability to change the game.
“Any opponent now worries about facing Simba because the players coming in are just as dangerous as those going out. I would be unfair if I did not congratulate my club leaders for the effort they made in the recent transfer window. It has paid off, and our goals remain the same,” said Barker.
After their match against TRA United in Arusha was postponed due to heavy rain, the Simba SC squad returned to Dar es Salaam to complete their preparations before traveling to Mwanza to face Pamba Jiji on Thursday, March 19.
