Simba’s Media and Communications Manager, Ahmed Ali, has admitted that the club’s leadership made the decision to remove striker Jonathan Sowah from the team’s camp while the squad was in Dodoma preparing for yesterday’s Premier League match against Dodoma Jiji.
Ahmed confirmed the reports that circulated on social media the previous day, stating that the matter concerning the player will be discussed internally by the club’s management before an official statement is released explaining what happened and what action will be taken.
“We removed Sowah from the camp and sent him back to Dar es Salaam, but for now that is all that should be known. I cannot say why he was removed or what will follow,” Ahmed said.
“The leadership will sit down to discuss his issue, and then a detailed statement will be issued explaining what happened and what will happen next,” he added.
Sowah may not be part of the squad that travels to Zanzibar for the Premier League match against Yanga, which will be played on Sunday, March 1, at the New Amaan Complex.
