The NBC Premier League clash between Dodoma Jiji and Simba has ended in a goalless draw.
It was a physical encounter dominated by intense challenges, with Dodoma Jiji spending much of the match sitting deep and defending in numbers.
Simba came close to breaking the deadlock early in the first half when Anicet Oura’s powerful strike rattled the crossbar. In the second half, Inno Loemba also squandered a promising opportunity that could have given the visitors the lead.
The result is not what Simba fans had hoped for, especially with the highly anticipated derby against their arch-rivals Yanga coming up next.
Although Simba controlled possession for large spells of the match, Dodoma Jiji executed a defensive game plan from the very first minute, successfully frustrating the Msimbazi Reds and forcing them to settle for a single point.
