Simba SC have demonstrated their intent to restore dominance in domestic and continental football following key reinforcements during the January transfer window, particularly strengthening their wide attacking options — a move that is already yielding positive results.
The arrival of wingers Anicet Oura and Libasse Gueye has injected pace and creativity into the Msimbazi Reds’ attack. The duo have contributed not only with goals but also by creating scoring opportunities for their teammates.
Since joining in the mid-season window, Gueye has scored two goals in Premier League matches, while Oura has netted twice in the CAF Champions League. These numbers underline the renewed sharpness in an area that last season heavily relied on Elie Mpanzu.
Mpanzu, previously the first-choice winger, now faces stiff competition following the arrival of the new signings. The increased competition for places appears to be raising the overall performance level within the squad.
