Simba goalkeeper Yacoub Suleiman has been included in the squad that traveled to Dodoma for two Mainland Premier League matches against Tanzania Prisons and Dodoma Jiji.
Yacoub has been out of action for about eight weeks while recovering from a knee injury he sustained in Morocco during Tanzania’s national team duties at the Afcon 2025 tournament.
His return is good news for head coach Steve Barker and his technical bench, as Yacoub will now provide competition for Djibrilla Kassali, who has faced little challenge for the starting spot since joining Simba in the mid-season transfer window.
Yacoub, who joined Simba from JKT Tanzania during the main transfer window, made a strong start with the Msimbazi Reds, stepping in to replace Moussa Camara, who was injured at the beginning of the season.
However, after Yacoub was also sidelined with injury, Simba were forced to return to the transfer market to sign Kassali, while Camara was removed from the club’s registration list.
