Simba SC head coach Steve Barker is set to face a crucial run of 270 minutes in three consecutive away matches that could clear the path for Simba in the Mainland Premier League title race.
Simba currently sit seventh in the league standings with 19 points after eight matches. However, Barker’s arrival has sparked renewed momentum within the squad, contributing seven points from his opening matches in charge.
During that run, Simba secured victories against KMC and Mashujaa, and recorded a draw against Mtibwa Sugar.
The away fixtures begin on Sunday, February 22, when Simba travel to Dodoma to face Tanzania Prisons. A win in that match would boost morale ahead of their next encounter against Pamba Jiji on February 25 at CCM Kirumba Stadium in Mwanza.
After completing the away schedule, Simba will return to Dar es Salaam to prepare for the Kariakoo derby against Yanga, set to be played on March 1 at the New Amaan Complex in Zanzibar.
The three matches carry significant weight for Simba, who have openly declared their ambition to win the league title this season. Should they collect all nine points, they would climb higher in the standings and strengthen their position in the title race, even though the season is still at an early stage.
