After the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) banned Sokoine Stadium in Mbeya for failing to meet club licensing requirements, Tanzania Prisons have requested to use Jamhuri Stadium for their league match against Simba on February 22, 2026.
Prisons Executive Secretary Godfrey Madegwa said the club has opted for Jamhuri Stadium while Sokoine undergoes renovations, and they are awaiting final confirmation from football authorities.
βWe know it is a tough match, but it is very important for us. The management is continuing to put administrative matters in order to ensure we build on the momentum after our match against Namungo,β said Madegwa.
Prisons and Simba will face off in the league fixture after the completion of the CRDB Federation Cup schedule, with Simba set to play Greenland FC tomorrow, while Prisons take on Moro Kids.
