Simba wrapped up the group stage in style with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Stade Malien, the leaders of Group D.
It was none other than Anicet Oura who continued his impressive form, scoring the only goal of the match in the third minute after calmly finishing a pass from Suleiman Mwalimu.
Simba were the better side in the first half and could have extended their lead through Oura, Clatous Chama, and Mwalimu had they been more clinical in front of goal.
In the second half, Stade Malien returned stronger in search of an equalizer, but it was Simba who came closest to scoring again through Oura, thanks in part to the Malien goalkeeper who kept his team in the match for long spells.
The win was crucial for Simba as they concluded the group stage with five points, with coach Steve Barker using the match as an opportunity to further strengthen his squad.
