Simba and Tanzania national team defender Wilson Nangu is set to travel to South Africa next week for treatment on an ankle injury.
Simba’s Head of Information and Communications, Ahmed Ali, confirmed that Nangu will undergo surgery there and could be sidelined for several weeks.
“Nangu is injured and we expect him to travel to South Africa next week for further treatment. He sustained the injury during the CAF Champions League match against Esperance.”
“For now, he will continue to be unavailable, and we do not know how long he will be out until he completes his treatment in South Africa,” Ahmed said.
In addition to missing tomorrow’s CAF Champions League match against Stade Malien, Nangu is also likely to be ruled out of the Kariakoo Derby against Yanga scheduled for March 1, 2026.
At present, defender Ismail Toure has been filling in his position, while Abdulrazak Hamza continues his recovery following knee surgery in Morocco.
