Simba goalkeeper Yacoub Suleiman has resumed training after recovering from an injury that sidelined him for approximately six weeks, it has been confirmed.
Yacoub sustained the injury while on national duty with Tanzania’s senior national team, Taifa Stars, during preparations for the AFCON 2025 tournament, which was held in Morocco and concluded last month with Senegal crowned champions.
The knee injury forced him to miss the tournament, despite Tanzania qualifying for the round of 16 for the first time in their history, where they were eliminated by hosts Morocco.
Simba’s medical team has now cleared Yacoub to rejoin full training with the rest of the squad after being satisfied that he has fully recovered from the injury.
His return comes as a boost for Simba, as he is set to provide competition to fellow goalkeeper Djibrilla Kasali, who was signed during the recent mini transfer window.
Kasali had stepped in to replace Moussa Camara, who mutually agreed with Simba to be deregistered and is currently continuing his recovery after undergoing knee surgery in Morocco in November 2025.
