Simba SC head coach Steve Barker has said that the return of Zambian playmaker Clatous Chama is a crucial step in strengthening the squad due to his vast experience.
Chama first joined Simba in 2018 from Zambia’s Lusaka Dynamos and left in August 2021 after being sold to RS Berkane. However, he did not stay long with the Moroccan side and returned to Simba in January 2022.
In July 2024, after his contract with Simba expired, Chama signed for Yanga, where he spent the 2024–2025 season. He then joined Singida Black Stars in September 2025 before making his return to Simba in January 2026.
“Chama’s return is a good thing. He understands Simba, knows how to work with his teammates, and is a player with great football intelligence. I believe he will add value to the team,” said Barker.
Coach Barker added that Chama’s arrival provides more options in the attacking midfield following the departure of Jean Charles Ahoua and presents an opportunity to increase competition within the squad.
“Chama is a player who can lead and motivate others. This gives us confidence that we have a strong and well-organized team,” Barker was quoted by Mwanaspoti.
In addition to Chama, Simba have also strengthened their defense by signing goalkeeper Djibrilla Kassali, defenders Nickson Kibabage and central defender Ismael Olivier Toure, who joined as a free agent, as well as Senegalese winger Libasse Gueye.
