Simba are reportedly interested in signing talented Stellenbosch midfielder Genino Tyrell Palace, 27, from South Africa.
The move has been recommended by Simba head coach Steve Barker, who previously worked with the midfielder at Stellenbosch.
This pursuit forms part of Barker’s strategy to strengthen the Simba squad just weeks after taking charge of the Msimbazi Reds.
However, for Simba to secure his services, they would need to buy out his contract, although there is also a possibility that the player could join on loan until the end of the season, with a permanent move to follow should Simba be satisfied with his performances.
So far, Simba are said to have completed the signings of no fewer than four foreign players, including goalkeeper Mahamadou Tanja from AS FAN of Niger.
Others include central defender Osmail Olivier Toure from UAE club Baniyas, and attacking midfielder Libasse Gueye from Teungueth FC, who has already been officially unveiled.
Additionally, Simba could sign left-back Khadim Diaw, a Mauritanian national who has been linked with the Msimbazi Reds since the main transfer window earlier this season.
Players set to depart include Jean Charles Ahoua, who is on his way to Algeria’s CR Belouizdad.
Others are Steven Mukwala, who has joined Libya’s Al Nasr; Joshua Mutale “Budo,” who is reportedly heading to Kenya’s Police FC; and goalkeeper Moussa Camara, whose name has been removed from registration despite remaining a Simba player until the end of the season.
