Simba head coach Steve Barker has said the club’s management needs to act quickly to make improvements, especially in the goalkeeping department.
While acknowledging that Simba require reinforcements in several areas, Barker emphasized that urgent action is needed in the goalkeeper position, particularly as the club’s two first-choice goalkeepers are currently sidelined with injuries.
Simba are without Moussa Camara and Yacoub Suleiman, both of whom are nursing injuries, although Camara has already started light training.
Barker, who suffered his first defeat since taking charge at Msimbazi yesterday, said the team is facing a tough CAF Champions League encounter against Esperance and must be fully prepared.
“When you are missing both of your first-choice goalkeepers, it is a big challenge. I think we need to take action quickly,” Barker said.
“We also need improvements in other areas, and I believe the management will work on that,” he added.
“We are facing a match against Esperance in the coming days, and we will make the necessary improvements to ensure we perform well,” Barker stated.
The first leg against Esperance will be played on Saturday, January 24, in Tunisia, with the return leg scheduled for a week later in Dar es Salaam.
