Simba’s first-choice goalkeeper Moussa Camara has eased pressure on the club’s management after making rapid progress in his recovery, raising hopes that he could return to action sooner than expected.
Camara underwent knee surgery in November 2025 and was initially expected to be sidelined for between two and three months, but his recovery progress suggests he may return to the pitch earlier.
The goalkeeper has begun rehabilitation exercises to strengthen the operated leg and is now able to use it to kick the ball.
This is said to be a major step in his recovery, with the possibility that he could return to action by the end of this month.
Simba had already started the process of searching for another goalkeeper to strengthen the position, which is currently being handled by Hussein Abel after Yacoub Suleiman suffered an injury while on national duty with the Tanzania national team, the “Taifa Stars.”
Simba’s Information and Communications Manager, Ahmed Ali, said the club’s management is awaiting an official injury report on Yacoub from the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) in order to plan his treatment accordingly.
