A late goal scored by Naby Camara secured Simba a 2–1 victory over Fufuni FC in their final group-stage match of the Mapinduzi Cup.
Young defender Hussein Ally Mbegu brought Simba back into the game with an equalizer in the 23rd minute after Fufuni had taken the lead in the 15th minute.
Mbegu set a new record by becoming the youngest player to score in the tournament at just 15 years old.
Having qualified for the semifinals, Simba will now face Azam FC at that stage.
