Simba head coach Steve Barker has already arrived in the country to officially begin his duties with the Msimbazi Reds.
Simba are expected to return to training today as they start preparations for the Mapinduzi Cup, which kicked off yesterday, Sunday.
Today, Barker and his technical bench are expected to hold a meeting with the clubβs management before being formally introduced to the players ahead of starting work.
Barker faces a major task, particularly in the CAF Champions League (CAFCL), where he is charged with guiding Simba into the quarterfinals after the team lost their opening two matches against Petro Atletico and Stade Malien.
The next CAF Champions League fixtures are against Esperance, with the first leg scheduled to be played in Tunisia on January 23, followed by the return leg on January 30 in Dar es Salaam.
For Simba to keep their qualification hopes alive, they must avoid defeat away from home and secure a win in the home leg.
In domestic league action and other competitions, Barker will have a good opportunity to ensure Simba meet their season objectives.
He begins his tenure by leading Simba in the Mapinduzi Cup, which got underway yesterday.
