With about three days remaining before the mini transfer window opens, transfer-related rumors have started to gather pace.
Reliable information from Msimbazi indicates that Simba have begun the process of pursuing Stade Malien’s dependable defender, Ismaïla Simpara.
The defender impressed during the CAF Champions League match between Stade Malien and Simba, played in Mali, where the Msimbazi giants suffered a 2–1 away defeat.
Following recent changes to CAF regulations, there is no longer a restriction on using a player signed from one club to another in the CAF Champions League or Confederation Cup.
In previous seasons, a player who had featured in CAF competitions for one club could not represent another club in the same competition during the same season.
As such, if Simba manage to sign Simpara, they would be able to field him in the remaining Champions League matches, including the return leg against Stade Malien.
