Simba goalkeeper Yacoub Mohammed is expected to be out of action for five weeks as he recovers from a knee injury sustained while on national team duty in Morocco.
Yacoub picked up the injury a day before Tanzania’s match against Nigeria, forcing him to miss that game as well as the remaining fixtures.
The injury is also a blow to his club Simba, which has now been compelled to enter the market in search of another goalkeeper.
Within the next three weeks, Simba are set to face Esperance in the third round of the CAF Champions League, with the first leg to be played in Tunisia before the return leg a week later in Dar es Salaam.
It is clear that Yacoub will miss those matches, while Simba are also without Moussa Camara, who is recovering from knee surgery he underwent last month.
Hussein Abel remains the only available goalkeeper, as Simba are already reported to be pursuing Mtibwa Sugar shot-stopper Constantine Malimi.
