The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Simba SC, Crescentius Magori, has dismissed reports circulating on social media claiming that the club’s leaders are not on good terms.
Speaking during a press conference held earlier today at Johari Rotana Hotel in Dar es Salaam, Magori said Simba is united and there are no differences among the club’s leadership.
“Recently, there have been comments here and there regarding the leadership. As the Board, we say Simba is one. We are fortunate to have an investor who is a Simba member, and when he appoints Board members, almost all of them are Simba members. Therefore, we are one entity,” said Magori.
Commenting on the team’s performance, Magori stated that Simba has only faced technical challenges and dismissed claims that the club lacks a competitive squad this season.
“From a technical perspective, the team struggled because the coach who launched the season left, and then another coach came in who did not meet the required standards.”
“In addition, a key central defender was injured during the Community Shield match, the first-choice goalkeeper was injured in the following game, and another central defender who was given a chance also got injured. But these issues are being exaggerated. We have already played five league matches and lost only one, yet the noise being made sounds like it’s the end of the world.”
Meanwhile, Simba Chairman Murtaza Mangungu emphasized that he has no problems whatsoever with the club’s investor, ‘Mo’, and that they communicate regularly.
“Mo and I spoke just yesterday, and not even about football matters. When someone claims there is a problem, they should clearly explain where it is. These stories are simply fabricated—someone says secrets are being leaked. We are playing football, and if others want to play secret games, they can continue,” said Mangungu.
