Simba striker Jonathan Sowah has been suspended for five (5) matches and fined TSh 1,000,000 (one million) for committing unsporting conduct after elbowing Azam FC player Himid Mao during a Premier League match against Azam FC.
According to a statement released by the League Management and Administration Committee, the punishment was issued in line with Premier League Regulation 41:21 concerning Player Discipline.
Similarly, Simba midfielder Allasane Kanté has also been suspended for five (5) matches and fined TSh 1,000,000 (one million) for unsporting conduct after deliberately kicking Azam FC player Feisal Salum during the same match.
The center referee of the match, Abdallah Mwinyimkuu from Singida, has been removed from the referees’ list for five (5) rounds for failing to properly interpret the Laws of the Game and for not taking appropriate action against infringements of the rules.
