Eight clubs will take part in the 2026 Mapinduzi Cup after last season’s tournament featured national teams.
The competition is scheduled to kick off on December 28, 2025 and conclude on January 13, 2026 at the New Amaan Complex Stadium in Unguja. The champions will receive Tsh 150 million in prize money, an increase of Tsh 50 million.
The Chairman of the Mapinduzi Cup 2026 Committee, Machano Makame Haji, said that Zanzibar will be represented by three teams: Mlandege, the champions of 2023 and 2024, Fufuni, and KVZ.
Teams from Tanzania Mainland include Azam FC, Simba SC, Singida Black Stars, and Yanga SC, with Uganda’s URA FC also invited to participate.
The winners of the tournament will pocket Tsh 150 million, while the runners-up will receive Tsh 100 million.
