Simba is in the final stages of completing the process of appointing a new head coach to replace Dimitar Pantev, who was shown the exit door after losing two CAF Champions League matches against Petro Atletico and Stade Malien.
Following an intense meeting involving the club’s top officials, an agreement on the arrival of the new coach has been reached, while the fate of assistant coach Selemani Matola awaits a final decision.
The new coach is expected to arrive with his own assistant and several other technical staff members.
Additionally, it is reported that Matola himself has requested to step aside once the new coach arrives.
A source close to Matola revealed that he has grown frustrated with the constant blame directed at him whenever Simba makes changes within the technical bench.
At the moment, pressure on him has intensified even more after the team’s loss to Azam FC, with some members and fans urging the club’s management to restructure the technical bench without his involvement.
It is now clear that Matola may not be included in the new technical team that will be formed by the incoming coach, who will also have the responsibility of recommending squad improvements during the upcoming mid-season transfer window.
