Simba SC’s Information and Communications Manager, Ahmed Ali, has assured striker Jonathan Sowah that the club’s fans fully support him and will fight for him off the pitch so that he can focus on one task — bringing them joy.
In recent days, several online articles have circulated, with some rival fans calling for disciplinary action against Sowah after an incident in which he appeared to collide with an Azam FC player while contesting the ball.
Ahmed stated that the fear shown by those who wish him ill is proof of how dangerous and talented Sowah is, insisting that Simba fans must protect him at all costs.
Through his social media page, Ahmed shared the following message:
“A lot of energy is being used to tarnish and weaken the Black Lion to distract him from his focus. Our rivals recognize his quality and know that once he gets proper minutes, he will do terrifying things — that’s why there’s such a fierce effort to break his spirit.”
“Let it be known clearly that our rivals are angry because they failed to get him; they knew that the team he was previously with was their usual hunting ground, so they thought they would sign him easily as they have done with others.”
“Unfortunately for them, it turned out differently and they missed out. Their anger has now shifted to social media.”
“It is our responsibility as Simba fans to fight for, protect, and defend any of our players for the good of our club.”
“Simba are very fortunate to have a striker like Sowah; it is our duty to protect him and help him deliver on his responsibilities.”
“Let it be understood that Sowah is a top–class striker with the ability to achieve great things and help our Simba,” Ahmed wrote.
