Simba continued their dominance in the NBC Premier League today with a convincing 3–0 victory over Mbeya City in a match played at the Major General Isamuhyo Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
The hunger for victory from Suleiman Matola’s squad was evident from the start, with Simba launching continuous attacks on the Mbeya City goal.
Morice Abraham opened the scoring in the 27th minute, finishing off a move created by Elie Mpanzu, before Jonathan Sowah doubled the lead in the 38th minute after capitalizing on defensive errors by Mbeya City.
Mbeya City striker Vitalis Mayanga was shown a red card early in the first half after elbowing Simba’s left-back Anthony Mligo.
In the second half, Simba continued to dominate, and one could argue that the Reds deserved an even bigger scoreline considering the number of chances they created.
The joy of Simba fans was sealed in the 85th minute when their beloved winger Mohamed Bajaber netted the third goal just minutes after coming on to replace Mpanzu.
Steven Mukwala intercepted the ball following another defensive mistake by Mbeya City and quickly set up Bajaber, whom the fans had eagerly waited to see showcase his skills.
This marks Simba’s fourth consecutive league win as the Msimbazi Reds maintain their 100% winning record.
