The President of Azam FC, Nassor Idrissa ‘Father’, has been elected as the Chairman of the Tanzania Premier League Board (TPLB) today, November 29, 2025, in Dar es Salaam.
The Chairman of the Electoral Committee of the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF), Kiomoni Kibamba, said that Idrissa received more votes than Hosseah Lugano, making him the winner.
“I would now like to announce the results for the Chairman of the Premier League Board as follows. A total of 14 votes were cast, with one spoilt vote.
“Mr. Hosseah Lugano received six votes and Nassor received seven votes. I hereby declare Mr. Nassor Idrissa as the elected Chairman of the Tanzania Premier League Board,” said Kibamba.
Speaking after being declared the winner, Father said that the new leadership requires cooperation.
“Those who voted for me did not make a mistake, and those who voted for Lugano also did not make a mistake. We are all in the same boat. We are still chairmen, and there are people behind us who need us. Together I know we will cooperate to move further ahead.
“Let us continue working together; the doors are open to develop our football. Let us work professionally so that future generations can inherit the good things we will build,” said Father.
