Simba SC’s Media and Communications Manager, Ahmed Ali, has provided clarification regarding the continued absence of attacking midfielder Mohamed Bajaber, who is said to have recovered from the injury that sidelined him since joining the Msimbazi giants during the last transfer window.
Simba fans have shown great eagerness to see the midfielder in action, especially after reports confirmed he had fully recovered.
However, Bajaber has remained absent and was not included in the squad that traveled to Mali early this morning ahead of the CAF Champions League match against Stade Malien scheduled for Sunday, November 30.
Ahmed explained that Bajaber is still working on regaining full fitness, and the technical bench is not rushing to involve him in tough matches to avoid potential setbacks.
"Bajaber has been out for a long time and given the current situation, the technical bench feels it’s not wise to use him in difficult matches—this is for his own benefit."
"The player has been recovering from a major injury, so he is being reintroduced gradually depending on the intensity of the matches. That’s why he played in the friendly against JKT Tanzania, but was not used in the match against Petro Atletico and will also not feature against Stade Malien."
"This decision is focused on protecting the player’s health as he continues to improve. The time will come when Simba fans will see him more regularly," Ahmed said.
