Following the knee surgery undergone by Simba goalkeeper Moussa Camara, it is reported that the team’s head coach, Dimitar Pantev, has recommended strengthening the goalkeeping department when the mid-season transfer window opens on December 15.
Camara is expected to be out for more than eight to ten weeks after sustaining an injury in the CAF Champions League preliminary match against Gaborone United, which ended in a 1–1 draw.
Camara’s injury has forced Simba’s management to begin the process of searching for another goalkeeper who can reinforce the position, which currently relies on Yacoub Suleiman and Hussein Abel.
“We are still looking for an experienced goalkeeper who will help the team in the CAF competitions and the domestic league alongside Yacoub Suleiman, who is continuing to adapt to the pressure at Simba, which is different from his previous club JKT Tanzania,” revealed one of Simba’s senior officials.
Camara underwent surgery yesterday, and according to a statement released by Simba, the operation was successful. He has now entered the second phase of his treatment, and once the injury heals, he will begin a rehabilitation program to strengthen the operated knee.
