Simba Launch Massive Fan Mobilization Ahead of CAFCL Group-Stage Opener vs Petro Atletico

As Simba prepares for their first CAF Champions League group-stage match against Petro Atletico, scheduled for Sunday, November 23 at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, the club’s Media and Communications Manager, Ahmed Ali, says they will roll out an extensive fan-mobilization campaign to ensure a huge turnout of Wanasimba filling the stadium.

Speaking at a press briefing earlier today, Ahmed said the match against Petro Atletico is of immense importance, and the club has invested heavily in energizing and motivating fans to attend the game in large numbers.

Ahmed also announced a schedule of various activities that will take place leading up to the first Group D match.

“Recognizing how important this match is, we have put massive effort into fan mobilization to encourage supporters to come to the stadium. What we want is to fill the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium—and for Simba, that’s not something we doubt.”

“We will move around the city of Dar to encourage fans to buy tickets. On that day, no one should remain at home—let’s all go to the stadium. On the 23rd, nobody should stay home; we want everyone to meet at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.”

“The launch of the mobilization will be on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, and for the first time, it will take place in Chanika Zingiziwa. Our convoy will start from Buguruni, then Ukonga, Pugu, and Chanika—expect fireworks there.”

“I take this opportunity to invite all Wanasimba to join us in Zingiziwa for the mobilization launch. On the 20th, we will move to the other side of Dar—we’ll go to Mbezi and Goba for the launch of a branch and a massive mobilization rally. We will start at Magomeni, Morocco, Mwenge, Mbezi, Goba, and back to Mbezi.”

“On the 21st, it will be a day of giving back to the Almighty as is our tradition. We will team up with the Mo Dewji Foundation to donate to the Al Zam orphanage in Temeke, and afterward we’ll share biryani. Saturday, November 22 will be the grand finale of our mobilization as we head to Vikindu. We are informing everyone in Vikindu and nearby areas to join us in completing the mobilization.”

“Our deliberate intention is to fill Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, and filling that stadium is no small feat—but it’s something we alone can accomplish; that’s why others ran away.”

“We are the only team in Tanzania playing in the CAF Champions League group stage for the fifth time. This is something for Wanasimba to be proud of. We always face tough teams, but we go through. Even this year, we have been grouped with strong teams, but let me say it early—the Mnyama will advance to the quarterfinals.”

“My brother, Sunday’s match is extremely tough. If we are not careful, we could be embarrassed, but Petro Atletico can be beaten. The management is prepared, the team under Manager Pantev is solid, and what remains is us—the fans. We must show up and push the team. Winning the first group match means a lot. And as always, our target is the same—nine points must remain at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium,” Ahmed said.
